First Visit
After being welcomed to our office the receptionist will give you a few forms to fill out regarding general information and your overall health concerns. Please allow 15 minutes prior to your appointment time to complete your new patient forms. We want your experience to be as stress free as possible so if you’d like to take advantage of filling them out in the comfort of your own home you may download our new patient forms from this website.
Consultation
Dr. Amy Bennett will then meet with you to discuss your specific health related problems and concerns. Your first visit is designed for Dr. Bennett to learn more about you and get to know you and answer all the questions you may have regarding your health.
Examination
After a thorough history and consultation, the doctor will then perform a complete chiropractic examination. This includes checking your range of motion, reflexes, as well as other standard neurologic, orthopedic, postural, and physical examinations.
X-Rays
Each patient is unique and different in their own special way; therefore, x-rays are the best diagnostic tool to determine if there are any abnormalities that we should be aware of BEFORE we adjust your spine. X-rays give us a structural record of your spine and is helpful in determining the degree of misalignments and any degenerative conditions that may be present. Most people are amazed to see their x-rays and can often identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves. If you have current x-rays from another clinic, please bring them with you on your first visit.
Report of Findings
Once all the information has been gathered from your exam and x-rays, Dr. Bennett will then go over the results to answer three of the most common questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do I need to do to get better?
- How much will it cost?
If you have a condition that requires you to see another specialist, she will let you know at this time. If Dr. Bennett believes she can help you, treatment will begin on the same day.
We are committed to providing you a warm, friendly and professional atmosphere. We investigate the cause of the problem and help guide your journey to optimal health. We take the time to explain what we find, what we are doing, and how we may help you.
Treatment
After conclusion of the report of findings, the doctor will then begin care with you. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies. The type of adjustment and technique will vary according to the needs and comfort level of each patient.
To adjust the affected area, Dr. Bennett applies a gentle and specific guided force to the misaligned area restoring function and movement. Removing nerve interference helps the body to repair, restore and heal allowing the body to function at its optimal level.
There are three phases of treatment: relief care, corrective care, and wellness/maintenance care. These will be discussed in further detail when designing the treatment plan together that is right for you. The extent to which you choose to benefit from chiropractic care is ultimately up to you.
At Bennett Chiropractic, there are no high pressure sales pitches, no scare tactics, no contracts to sign for future services, just PATIENT CENTERED CARE aimed at making you feel better, returning normal spinal function, and working to keep it that way.
